The Oregon Coast is one of our favorite places, and we are thrilled to invite you to a weekend at Camp Westwind.
Westwind is a 529-acre independent non-profit camp, learning space, and wilderness area set in the middle of the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve in Oregon. Westwind is home to headland meadows, dense Sitka Spruce and Hemlock forests, a dynamic estuary, hidden lakes and streams, and the unparalleled Pacific Coast.
Westwind sits on Tillamook and Siletz land, represented today by the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians, at the mouth of the Salmon River.
Growing up, Hugh came to Westwind every year with his school!
Camp Westwind is remote, and can only be accessed by a 2 mile hike or by boat. As a kid, Hugh thought Westwind was an island because he only ever came by water.
Don’t worry, we’ll all enter camp together and your luggage will be shuttled into camp, so you won’t have to carry anything. However, access to camp is very controlled, so we’ll enter on Friday afternoon and leave together on Sunday morning. This means our wedding is really a whole weekend event. Also, there is no wifi at camp and cell service is limited, so prepare to disconnect.
We hope this weekend is a chance for everyone we love to be together in a place that we love! We just ask that you bring a sense of adventure and a willingness to help out. Westwind expects that all guests participate in a final clean out at the end of the weekend.

We know this weekend is a big commitment! All accommodations, meals, snacks, and drinks will be provided for the weekend. Cabins are rustic (see photos), but they all have heat and electricity. There are two fully plumbed and heated bathhouses with private toilets/showers. We’ll ask for housing preferences and dietary restrictions in your RSVP.
Pictured here are Westwind’s main lodge (Wilson Lodge), a typical Westwind cabin, and the Wilson Lodge dining hall!
