To Westwind

Shuttle

Westwind is located approximately 2 hours from Portland, and we’ve arranged a charter bus to take everyone from Portland out to the coast, so you don’t have to worry about renting a car. The bus will pick up at PDX airport on Friday at 1:00 pm and drop off back at PDX on Sunday around 2:30 pm. Kate and Hugh will be on the bus and we’d really encourage everyone to join us! It makes it easier for Westwind if we arrive as a group, and it should be a ton of fun!

Once we arrive, camp is only accessible by foot and we’ll be hiking in together! The hike will begin at approximately 3:30 pm for all bus campers. The hike is a flat 2.5 miles on forest road, and your luggage will be transported into camp via truck, so you won’t have to carry it in. You will have to haul it from the bus to your cabin on sandy/hilly trails, so keep that in mind when selecting your bag. If you have any accessibility issues, please let us know. For campers with children, let us know how to best make the hike work for you. We’re happy to provide wagons!

Driving Yourself

Set your GPS for 7500 N. Fraser Road, Otis, Oregon, 97368. It’s very important to use this address because the entrance to camp is rather complicated, and simply putting “Camp Westwind” will not take you to the correct location. Please plan to arrive at 4:30 pm, because car campers will need to start the hike a bit later than bus campers. Once you arrive at the Cascade Head Interpretive Wayside, you’ll be directed through the gate to the farm where you can safely park your car for the weekend, and you’ll begin the hike from there!

Flights

The easiest airport for Westwind access is PDX (~2 hr drive to Westwind), and this is where the shuttle will depart from. Enjoy the newly renovated terminal! If you wanted to make a (long) road trip out of it, you could fly in / out of SFO or SEA.
