Fall on the Oregon Coast can be unpredictable weather wise, so the key takeaway here is to pack lots of layers (and a raincoat)! On average, October temperatures range from 65 during the day to 45 at night. Cabins are heated and have electricity, and we’ll provide bedding/linens. You won’t need to carry your luggage into camp, but camp suggests a duffle bag as opposed to a rolling bag, if possible. Importantly, once you come into camp you won’t be able to leave until the end of the weekend, so make sure you’re prepared.

Basics

  • Toiletries

  • Medications

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug spray

  • Water bottle

  • Flashlight/headlamp

  • Small backpack for hiking

  • Any beach toys/games/cards/crafts you’d like to have at camp

  • We’ll provide all food for the weekend, but you’re welcome to bring extra snacks/drinks you might want, just keep them in sealed containers over the weekend because we don’t want animals in the cabins.

  • We’ll provide linens (sheets, blanket, pillow, bath towel), but if you want to bring anything extra like a sleeping bag, feel free.

Clothing

  • Shoes for hiking - tennis shoes will be fine, but it may be muddy

  • Water shoes for beach/river exploring - Tevas or rainboots will work!

  • Swim suit - for those brave enough to face the Pacific, Hugh said he is bringing his wetsuit

  • Rain gear - we’ll still want to hike even if it rains, but no pressure to join

  • Warm jacket - maybe the most important item to bring, it will be chilly at night

  • Ceremony clothes - we’ll be dressing up on Saturday night for a short ceremony and celebratory dinner! Dress code is “camp formal". We know, another made up dress code, but think button ups and blazers for men, semi-formal attire for women, something slightly dressed up that will still be comfy in a camp setting. The camp is mostly sand, and our ceremony will be on the beach, so keep that in mind when selecting shoes.

  • Clothes for the rest of the weekend - shorts/sweatshirts/leggings etc, clothes for camp

Please do not bring

  • Recreational drugs (Westwind’s policy is strict and we’d face a hefty fine)

  • Pets (we are also very sad about this, but are happy to show Mick photos at any time)

  • Glass bottles (think, beach rules)

Also! There is an option for tent camping if you’d like to bring your own tent/pad/sleeping bags/etc. Chat with us if you’d like to do this and we can make it happen!
